Munch of Lust

Crunched with pleasure
Bites and bites
More to gulp
In sake of quieting the craving
Sinking into a fragile body
Continued with lust
For deep fried tastes
Running beyond proportion
The body can not hold the weight
Layers of fats building walls
The heart is too squeezed
Run out of space to breathe
Still the peek is not reached
Lust of deep fried munch

The month of Ramadhan (fasting) a part of being a month of spirituality for muslims all over the world. We have made it as part of custom to become very artistic with cooking and many are fatty fried foods. This is a message that included me too. Beware, food remains one of temptation that is hard to resist.

I owe this poem and the idea to Liz of blue sky tavern blogspot for her poem
Deep Fried Something (please click the poem to read it in full)

The Photo belongs to Princess Fancy Hen (please click the photo to know about the photographer posted in flickr.com)

I like this.

I guess food temptations are like any other kinds of temptations. They are so enjoyable but can be so bad for you!

Best to you on your month of Ramadhan, Nasra. :)

oh boy you hit it on the head with this one!!! i had too much for dinner tonight and am feeling too full to even sleep comfortably. i'm not able to exercise due to fasting and its really hard to stick to a diet during this month for all the temptations in the evening....but inshallah tomorrow i will be good (dietwise)...i'm obssessed with losing weight, probably will lose my sanity before! :)

actually we are supposed to offer our controlled cravings upto god and hope for his acceptance and forgiveness. not just hunger but anger, the temptation to gossip etc, to offer our goodness to him and hopefully to remain good the whole year round. today i did bad mouthed somebody while fasting and my mood has soured since then...i;m just not feeling clean.
probably eating too much was a reaction to that.

What an important message for us all to heed. I know although Ramadan is supposed to curb how much food we intake, the opposite often happens.

Ramadan Kareem to you Nasra :-)
