Honey and leaf

Honey and leaf

It feels lonely
Yet she is wrapped
In honey of love
Honey paste
Tastes so sweet
Gentle to the skin
Somehow to her it stings
Unaware how to stand
Among crowd of love
Lonely leaf among scattered leaves
Feeling so lonely
Unable to fit in crowd of leaves

How odd to write these poetic thoughts to be lonely in midst of those who love you the most. The isolation that pricks on the soul like a sand watch, the grains fall bits by bits. I'm in mid of my calmness yet the wind brings that sense of loneness, I face the crowd but they vanish out of my sight its only me with the wind and here in deserted beach I listen to the whispers of waves. The tide it comes and go and I wonder what is there to remain that can be the face of eternity. Time becomes an enemy that you wish you can destroy so all can be still and the reality remains that the tide comes and go.

Among the good news I received a lovely poetry book written in Malayalam. This book is written and translated by Judge Muttathu Sudhakaran his a former district and Sessions Judge. He had visited Oman where he came across my book and took time to meet me with a request to translate my poetry. "I think I have sent a copy of Malayalam translation of your poem The night(Rathri) published in a magazine describing you as the poetess. Another 11 poems published in various literary magazines in karalla stating your name as an Arabic poetess. I shall send you photo copies of relevant pages of magazines to you to see how you appeared in the literary field in Kerala State, India." as he wrote to me in one of his emails. We agreed that the royalty of the book will donated to spread awareness on Cancer " Most probably the beneficiary of Royalty of the book will be the Cancer Institute, Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.(capital city of kerala state.)" as he explained to me with his own words. Finally I also received an email where he had informed me that the feed back on publishing the book "Happy to report that in Kerala, India all the literary periodicals expressed hearty welcome for you poems in translation by me in malayalam. Some cheerful words they used about the eminence of your way of _expression of your poetic ideas. They expressed in print that your handling of verse is useful to poets who are composing in malayalam. If address is given to me in E-mail I shall arrange to send the copy by post. Total price and postage will be one real. Royalty, whatever it may be, will be donated in your name to-Cancer Institute, Government Medical College, Trivandrum,Kerala, India. (There is an organization (alumini) of this College at Muscat, members are former students of this Medical College" Stated Judge M. Sudhakaran.

It is such an amazing news that the chain of giving is continuing for the sake to lend a hand for those who are touched with Cancer. Thank you Judge Muttathu Sudhakaran for your noble cause and keeping the flame of hope alive.

The photo which has been selected to represent an Arabic poetess (Nasra Al Adawi) was taken from Gulnaz. So I thank Gulnaz giving her Arabic touch in the book. (Click the photo to see it in large form)

The lovely photo of honey belong to Matilde B. which I have seen from flickr.com. "Matilde I thank you for taking such amazing photo"

i loved this poem, nasra, it is so beautiful!! congratulations on getting yet another book published, and this time translated in another country's language. just goes on to prove how similar we all are underneath. we share the same pains and joys. i don't need to tell you how wonderful you are to work so tirelessly for such a worthy cause. the honey leaf picture is AMAZING! i'm flattered that my picture was chosen to represent the arabic poetess since i'm neither....:) ....flattered nonetheless. I'm not surprised that your book of poems has been well recieved in the malyali literary circles...more power to you, girl!

i really like the poem. but more so what you wrote after that. Yes, it can be a very distressing kind of sorrow. bcs you know you should not feel it, for the sake of those who love you so, and yet, you feel nothing else.
