An Empty Canvas Without Poetry
It all begins with words
Paint of words, unlimited of colors
Pouring pure emotions into an empty canvas
A creation of life, I watch it as it grows
My soul puts the final gloss on this painting
It only then becomes possible
Perceptible
Poetry- the final painted canvas
Paint of words, unlimited of colors
Pouring pure emotions into an empty canvas
A creation of life, I watch it as it grows
My soul puts the final gloss on this painting
It only then becomes possible
Perceptible
Poetry- the final painted canvas

Without doubt poetry paints pictures, as does this
Your poem is exactly my feelings about writing poetry.

Thanks for reading my blog..For me poetry means a lot, and I seem to fail to express how poetry chaged my life...

Glad that we are sharing this...it all down to love of poetry
I love to read your blog and I think you express yourself with passion.
i'm sure the final painting is beautiful :) very pretty.
Hi Nasra,
That poem cited for the AIDS awareness has always pierced my heart. I'm glad you enjoyed visiting my site and reading that older post.
It is early Saturday morn here, so this is a quick comment. I'm bookmarking your site, because it speaks to the poetic aspect of me.
You visited my art site, which is an eclectic mix of my thoughts enhanced by original paintings, photographs, and jewerly designs of mine. (That site is differemt than the link I provide here because I hope you return to both.)
You visited http://Green-EyedLady.blogspot.com. (I have two blogs because I'm trying to enlarge my circle of net writing buddies/feedback. :) On that site, I do have poetry of my own, but not much. ON the Green-EyedLady site, which is titled "Good Vibrations", please see the sidebar category of "Poetry." Click direclty on the word poetry, a menu comes up, choose the poem you want to read and you will see a poem I wrote. There are two. (Just close the box and restart th process to read both.)
There is another poem there that is not categorized yet. That is titled "I Feel the Earth Move" and is free verse about a time in my life....... It's in my April archives- mid April: correponds with Earth Day, ironically.
I wish I didn't have an appointment. I realized I have typed like the wind and should have emailed you instead of this long comment. Future commetns will not be this long, at all I promise. I just have this intense desire to connect with you after reading so many posts here on your site! I feel like I found a poet friend. That feels wonderful, especially since I'm not able to be in a real life writer's group at this time in my life.
I hope you visit the site linked here by my other name of SilverMoon. (It's categories are smooth. There's only 2 poems there right now, but I have scores I could post. I work 1 1/2 - 2 full time jobs, plus being a mom, so I do the best I can.) I'd appreciate ANY feedback, positive, negative or in-between (I mean that; i have a tough writer's skin.)
I'm more partial to "Passages" because it was written from deep emotions swirling within my heart, to my oldest daughter...
As for your poetry here in this post and other places, ahhhhhhhhh!
This one I responded to, because I'm often asked which I prefer: painting or writing poetry? I respond that they are equal passions within myself, equal drives, but it depends on my mood. We artistic people (artist, writers, theatre, etc) cannot be categorized! ;)
Beautiful succinct poem that flows, speaks to my soul. I write to paint pictures w/ my words as I express emotions and/or observations. Thank you for the gift of your site! :)
